A farewell letter
To everyone who traveled with Alaskan Student Travel over the years — thank you.
After eight unforgettable years of sharing the beauty, culture, history, and wilderness of Alaska with students and teachers from around the world, I have decided to retire and close this chapter of the business.
As a lifelong educator and traveler, it has been a true privilege to watch young people learn, explore, and grow through these experiences. From glaciers and wildlife to music, culture, and adventure, every trip created memories I will always treasure.
While this was not an easy decision, the time has come for me to focus on family, travel of my own, and the many hobbies that patiently waited on the sidelines.
As one journey ends, another begins.
Thank you for being part of this adventure and for allowing Alaskan Student Travel to be part of your lives.

A glimpse of our latest trips
Meet your tour guide
Michael S. Perkins, a former teacher, counselor, principal and seasoned public school educator of thirty-two years, has been a dedicated leader of numerous school trips throughout his career. His journey into organizing educational excursions began in 1989, and since then, he has coordinated trips to diverse destinations, including Russia, Japan, and numerous ventures to the east coast. However, Michael has recently made the deliberate decision to shift his focus exclusively to Alaska, aiming to share the unique wilderness and rich cultural heritage of the region with students. With a profound love for travel, his primary goal is to teach students essential skills for safe exploration, facilitating their learning about history, culture, and, above all, self-discovery.

“Brian Walker an Alaska Native also joined us on our adventure. Learning about his indigenous heritage was an added bonus. Brian taught our students about the World Eskimo Olympics and they were able to participate in a few of their ‘own events.’” Thank you Michael Perkins, Brian Walker, and Levi for
